Second film, baby! Three years passed since TYG was made, I'm back. Been a long time waiting and it's off to a good start. It will compete in the NETPAC section of Cinemalaya 2011. It will have three screenings, two at Greenbelt 3 and its gala at CCP. 

I miss the feeling of watching my film on the big screen. It's an accomplishment and a validation, something that reminds me to give myself a pat on the back.

Nae-excite lang ako. Kating-kati na akong sabihin na magku-compete ang pelikulang ito sa NETPAC ng Cinemalaya ngayong July. Ito ang synopsis:


Two years after she was raped, a woman agrees to meet with her rapist in the beautiful ruins of Intramuros. As they have the same blood type, her rapist asks her to donate blood for his operation claiming this will lengthen his life and will give him ample time to seek redemption. The woman refuses to do so as she rediscovers she is still a victim of unrequited love towards her rapist. Told in two separate perspectives, the story revolves around how the woman and man pick the pieces of their broken lives after the rape, meeting every so often at places that remind them of their past. They are confronted by the fact that they are both victims of each other: THE WOMAN struggles with loving no one but the man; THE MAN, struggles with his guilt knowing he can't love the woman the way she wants him to.

Kailangan nang tapusin. Kailangan nang gumawa ng trailer. Kailangan nang ayusin. Malakas ang kutob ko sa kabaliwang ito.

After three years, nakagawa na uli ako ng sariling pelikula. Eksayted. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang i-eexpect mula sa sarili ko. Initially, gusto ko lang gumawa ng sobrang kakaiba at extreme sa TYG. Gawa-gawa lang itong teaser poster. Minimal at walang arte. Itim at puti. Parang unrequited love.

MAN

Whatever happened to us?

WOMAN

We've grown.

SEQ. 26.     EXT. PUBLIC PLAYGROUND. DAY.

The woman is on the swing, doing the origami fortune teller when the man arrives. She plays with it (Adlib).

WOMAN

Pinapatawad na kita.

The MAN seems relieved. The woman takes out the check from her bag.

WOMAN

Ito ang kailangan mo, hindi ang dugo ko.

MAN

Ang gusto ko lang naman maipakita sayo na nagsisisi na ako.

WOMAN

Death will both set us free.

MAN

How can I change your mind?

WOMAN

Mahalin mo ako.

The man becomes bewildered. The woman holds the man’s hand, attempts to kiss him but the MAN starts to leave.
